EVENT DESCRIPTION The event will feature many local and mainland artists. It will be a focal point for all of Polynesia, being the last area on earth to enter the new Millenium. As it sweeps through the time zones, the line of events that will take place all over the planet will culminate in a Grand Finale here on Maui. For once, the whole world will have its attention focused in one direction-and many will be linked via Internet and/or media. Some will experience the evening as an amazing world party, others as an incredible opportunity to shift the mass consciousness of the planet. The Hawaiian heritage will be featured prominently at sunset with Hula dancers and prayers and blessings to reshape the past and bring forth an era of peace and prosperity for all. They will light the torch for the Millenium with offerings of chants and dances. This will open an evening of celebration with a great line-up to uplift our spirits as we prepare for the great countdown before midnight, building up to this mythical moment, where we all join hearts and souls in celebrating a new phase in the history of Mankind, sending our unconditional love throughout the whole planet as we link with other events around the globe. One of the main focuses of this event is the awakening of our planet as a whole and the awareness that we all share a common destiny and responsibility as Dwellers on Earth. To illustrate this concept we will have a big screen reviewing worldwide events, and interactive Internet stations set up on the site. MAIN THEMES Solidifying the means by which we can communicate effectively, interact ethically, and ultimately cooperate seamlessly into the new millenium where our interrelationship will be vital to the survival of the biosphere. Interactivity Among Humans: learning to communicate, play and co-create, letting go of fear, opening to love, celebrating our basic humanness, preserving cultural diversity. Interspecies Communication: get to know non-human sentient beings with whom we also share this planet, and whose survival is tied up with ours. PROGRAM 7:00 pm Hawaiian Blessing The Maui Millennium Event will plant the seed of Aloha that will spread throughout the entire world. This unique happening will take place in one of the most prestigious locations in Maui, the Grand Waikupu Country Club. As locals know this futuristic complex was designed by the renknowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It is the perfect venue to welcome the new millenium in. |

It is a gem of rare beauty set in a turquoise sea and has been serving as a sanctuary for the Humpback whales and other creatures, such as the spinner dolphins and the sea turtles. Haleakala, " House of the Sun," Maui's dormant volcano, pristine jungle pools and waterfalls, endless sandy beaches and spectacular coral reefs, all these contribute to making Maui one of the most popular vacation destinations on Earth. Situated almost at the center of the Pacific Ocean, it represents a bridge between East and West as it is easily reached from the U.S. as well as Australia and Asia. These cross currents are reflected in the culture and the people, and the Aloha spirit stands as a symbol of hospitality and tolerance within this cultural diversity. |
